Award Satisfies Nonprofit's Hunger for
Solutions |
|
As TechBridge announces the call for entries for the fifth
annual Technology Innovation Award (TIA), we looked at the award's
impact.
To help illustrate the value of participating in the
award program, TechBridge caught up with Bill Bolling, Executive
Director of Atlanta Community Food Bank to get his perspective on
the role technology plays in supporting the Food Bank's mission and
what it has meant to be a Technology Innovation Award
recipient.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank received the
Technology Innovation Award in 2002. The agency relies on
sophisticated technology solutions to collect, manage and distribute
food to more than 750 nonprofit partner agencies in 38 counties in
Atlanta and North Georgia.
According to Bill Bolling,
Executive Director of Atlanta Community Food Bank: "Receiving the
Technology Innovation Award gave us credibility with the technology
community and sent a message that we could work with other
organizations on technology initatives. Quite frankly, it
opened a lot of doors."

the fifth annual Technology Innovation Award, given by Accenture,
are due on February 10, 2006. We are sharing this news with
you because, as a community and business leader, we know that you
and your company have relationships with nonprofits that may have an
interest in applying for this award. We ask that you share the
details of this opportunity with your charitable partners so they
have a chance to be recognized for using technology to make Georgia
a better place for us all.
This year's award provides over $45,500 in TechBridge
consulting services, Microsoft software and cash to the nonprofit
who best demonstrates an innovative use of technology to advance its
mission and enhance overall effectiveness. Similarly, two nonprofit
finalists will each receive over $16,500 in TechBridge consulting
