TechBridge Announces New CEO |
ATLANTA, GA – August 19, 2008. TechBridge, a nonprofit that helps other nonprofits leverage technology to better serve the Atlanta community, is pleased to announce that Kathleen Kurre has accepted the position of CEO. She will begin immediately. Ms. Kurre will grow and enhance TechBridge’s mission to provide value-driven technology services and increase the overall impact on Atlanta’s nonprofit sector. “Over the past eight years, TechBridge has grown in size and impact enabling it to serve almost 300 not for profits this year. While TechBridge’s impact is significant, there are over 1,000 not for profits in our community that can benefit from TechBridge’s expertise in making technology more readily accessible and effective. The NPower Network as a whole is targeting to serve over 50,000 not for profits annually by 2012. Kathleen’s unique skills and experience make her the ideal choice to step into this important but challenging goal,“ said Dave Kardesh, Vice President - IT, Corporate Systems, The Home Depot and TechBridge Search Committee Member. Having more than twenty years of technology and business management to her credit, Ms. Kurre possesses the strategic skills necessary to successfully lead a dynamic organization. Her rich background as a technology entrepreneur and executive will further TechBridge’s collaboration with Atlanta area corporations, CIOs and the non-profit community. Such involvement is necessary to develop opportunities to bridge the gap that exists between commercial and nonprofit organizations in the application of technology to solve mission-critical challenges and meet strategic objectives. Since 2006, Ms. Kurre has been Lecturer, College of Management and Executive-in-Residence, Interdisciplinary Institute for Leadership & Entrepreneurship at Georgia Tech where she worked with students, faculty and the community to grow technology commercialization and entrepreneurship. In her role at Georgia Tech, she directed the Georgia Tech Business Plan competition, taught an undergraduate impact/leadership class and a graduate level technology commercialization class (Technology Innovation Generating Economic Results or TI:GER). As President of Fusion Advisors, LLC since 2001, Ms. Kurre brings her considerable experience integrating business concepts with team development and organizational change necessary to create and sustain long-term success to the TechBridge leadership post. In addition to her business background, Ms. Kurre has an impressive civic resume to contribute to the position as TechBridge CEO. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards and volunteered with several civic organizations. She is currently serving on the advisory boards of MPower and the Women’s Resource Center at Georgia Tech. “The unique synergy created by TechBridge’s technology expertise and nonprofit heritage fits my personal passion,” said Kurre. “I’m excited about the opportunity to help TechBridge empower nonprofits to use technology to more efficiently and effectively meet needs and provide services that enrich our community and our lives.” # # #
