ATLANTA – April 7, 2009 – TechBridge, a nonprofit that helps other nonprofits leverage technology to better serve the Atlanta community, is pleased to announce that Mark Latham has joined the TechBridge staff as Chief Operating Officer effective April 1, 2009. What began as a volunteer project has grown into a full-time commitment for Latham. “I was asked by a friend on the TechBridge board to evaluate a few key business processes for the new CEO, Kathleen Kurre,” says Latham. “But, after spending time with the people at TechBridge, their passion for service was so contagious that I quickly caught the fever to stick around and make improvements wherever I can.” In his new position, Latham will bring the full weight of his considerable expertise to projects that will make TechBridge more scalable and increase its capacity to help thousands of nonprofits in the Atlanta area. The scope of Latham’s work will include organizing and motivating both the volunteer base and TechBridge staff to more efficiently utilize the available talent and to streamline internal business processes such as web design, help desk, network design and marketing to ensure consistency in mission, strategy and operations. Having spent twenty years of his professional career with UPS, Latham has amassed a wealth of experience in efficiency, motivation and team building. Additionally, serving various startups for more than ten years, he has developed keen entrepreneurial leadership skills and valuable sales/marketing knowledge. “The Atlanta technology community continues to rally behind the TechBridge mission, at a time when the need for our services has never been greater. Mark’s addition to the TechBridge team will enable us to improve our scalability and enhance our ability to help nonprofits use technology more effectively to deliver their services to our community,” says TechBridge CEO, Kathleen Kurre. “We are pleased and excited to have someone with Mark’s business expertise bring a laser focus to achieving our mission.” About TechBridge |
