TechBridge Data Center Move Doubles Its Capacity to Serve Nonprofit Clients |
Atlanta – October 19, 2009. Atlanta-based TechBridge, a nonprofit dedicated to helping other nonprofits use technology to increase capacity to serve our community, is pleased to announce the successful relocation of its data center. The complex move is an example of Atlanta’s IT community working together through TechBridge to significantly impact the local nonprofit community. Savvis, a global leader in outsourced internet infrastructure services for the enterprise, is generously donating data center space to host the TechBridge infrastructure. Coupled with hardware upgrades made possible by a donation from IBM, the relocation project has provided performance improvements, enhanced stability and doubled TechBridge’s capacity to serve its nonprofit clients. The Savvis Internet Data Center located in Lithia Springs, GA offers more than 51,000 square feet of world-class data center space designed to meet the stringent demands of Enterprise customers. Savvis provides a full suite of hosting services from simple Colocation hosting to Fully Managed IT Infrastructure services to Enterprise Cloud solutions. “We believe in the TechBridge mission,” said Cindy Jordan, SE Regional Sales Director for Savvis. “It just makes sense for Savvis to bring our premier IT infrastructure capabilities to nonprofits through this unique donation to TechBridge.” To ensure the success of the data center move, IT staff from AutoTrader.com volunteered approximately 200 hours to plan and execute the move. This donated expertise was a critical component necessary to guarantee a smooth transition with minimal interruption of services to TechBridge clients. The relocation is part of TechBridge’s continuing efforts to provide the highest quality IT services and support to the nonprofit community.
