Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta
This private, nonprofit agency serves more than 2,200 children annually by leveraging its Match Management System (MMS). MMS is an integrated, paperless system for accepting applications for children and volunteers, making matches, enabling mass communications, and an operational database to measure outcomes of match relationships. MMS has resulted in a drastic decrease in mailing overhead and staff time and an increase in dollars directed toward programs. It is currently being adopted as a model for all 450 BBBS chapters in the U.S.

The Hands On Network performed more than 1.3 million hours of volunteer service in 2004, marking the launch of the ‘Hands on Tech’ system initiative, which revolutionized the agency's business practices including the management and coordination of volunteers, programs, and services. The ‘Hands On Tech’ initiative provides online registration for all volunteer projects, standardizes reporting metrics, and includes an online Resource Library and a Virtual Citizen's Academy (distance learning). These tools assist volunteers and project coordinators plan and manage events, projects and education around key community issues. 'Hands On Tech' has now been adopted by 17 other chapters, saving each affiliate an average of $45,000 annually.
